Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 / Outlook 2003
Runtime error - Object expected
After installing Office 2003, you may begin to get Run Time errors on various web pages stating "Runtime error", "Object expected", or "Do you wish to debug? Line: XXX":
A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to Debug?
Line: line number
Error: nature of script erroror
A Runtime error has occurred.
Line: 104Error: Object expected.
The reason is that Microsoft's gurus (in their infinite wisdom) have designed the Office 2003 installation such that the Script debugging feature is turned ON when Office 2003 is installed (don't ask me why !) - so many folks with new PCs and/or those who buy Office 2003 may start seeing this problem all of a sudden !
Microsoft Outlook e-mail size problems
E-mail messages with attachments or HTML links bloat up
If e-mail messages sent in HTML format suddenly become gigantic and the size appears to be suspiciously large, go to TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> MAIL FORMAT --> INTERNET FORMAT --> and then UNCLICK the box which says "When an HTML message contains pictures located on the Internet, send a copy of the pictures instead of the reference to their location." By unclicking this box, the message only contains the link rather than attaching the entire included content.
Text is wrapped in Microsoft Outlook mail messages
If your mail messages appear untidy and garbled because the lines get wrapped at odd intervals because Outlook inserts hard-returns (carriage returns), the problem is the "Automatically wrap text" setting.
Go to TOOLS --> OPTIONS --> MAIL FORMAT --> INTERNET FORMAT --> and look for the "Plain text" options, and change the "Automatically wrap text at" setting to 90 or more, to avoid messages from having text wrapped.
